Another 138 million directed to the construction of affordable housing in London
The mayor of London Boris Johnson has announced details of the allocation of an additional £138 million allocated for the construction of the next phase of affordable housing in London.
According to projections, London will need up to 2031 1 million residential properties. Using the allocated Fund affordable housing funds in London will be built about 6,000 objects of available housing, construction of which involved 57 construction companies.
Boris Johnson noted that in order for the economy of the capital were competitive, the city just needs to Commission affordable housing. With the rate at which the population is growing in London in the coming years, up to 2030, the city will need annually not less than 40,000 units of new houses. If this pace of construction, the city will not stand, Londoners working in the city, it will become increasingly difficult to live here.
Boris called on the government to continue not to stop the flow of funding, because it is not only new housing for Londoners, but also long-term contracts for builders in the growth and prosperity of the capital. The financing plan, which was announced yesterday, includes the delivery of 55,000 affordable homes in London.
Boris Johnson, speaking about the announcement of new resources, returned to his favorite theme about the need of money of Stamp duty flowing into the Federal budget from the sale of property in London, to Finance the construction of new housing in London.
The Mayor recently presented to the Londoners a new portal that contains all the information for buyers or tenants of affordable housing in London, including information about the government program “Help to Buy”, which allocated £500 million to Finance the London buyers.
Already, many residents have benefited from the programme and those who were lucky enough to move into their new home in London, really happy, because without this help from the government the chances of many families to get a mortgage on my apartment was virtually zero.
