The former Battersea power station will become a world masterpiece of Architecture

The launch of a new, third phase of the iconic buildings of London’s Battersea Power Station, which will include the pedestrian shopping street, was announced recently.

The project was launched after they announced the winners of the international competition of the designers-architects that won the architectural group Genry Partners and Foster+ Partners.

The new building will include more than 1,300 new housing units, new pedestrian shopping street which will be called The Electric Boulevard. Electric Boulevard.

Electric Boulevard will be the main street of the development, connecting the heart of Battersea with black line London Underground.

Residential apartments of varying styles and sizes will be on both sides of the Electric Boulevard, the 160 room hotel, 350,000 square feet of shops and restaurant will be available to residents and guests of the complex. In the framework of the third phase construction will be completed 103 units of affordable housing from the total number of 517 .

Architectural group Gehry Partners is widely known for his vast experience in a wide variety of cultural, institutional and commercial projects such as Guggenheim in Bilbao and the Concert Hall Walt Disney in Los Angeles. Architects Gehry Partners – developing five buildings in the East of the Electric Boulevard. It will be two-level buildings, representing a mix of residential apartments and commercial premises. A distinctive feature of the work of these architects is the pursuit of excellence in creating some kind of Alliance public and personal spaces when everyone feels comfortable and harmoniously with the environment.

The second group of architects – Foster + Partners – world-famous for its famous works, including the famous building that resembles the shape of the gherkin 30 St Mary Axe in the city of London, the building of the British Museum and the renovated Reichstag. Foster + Partners has designed the Western part of the building, creating a beautiful line along the Boulevard and the unique exterior profile of the street.

It will be a two storey commercial premises which are interrupted by huge public spaces, flooded with light. The upper part of the buildings will be planted the entire length of the garden to create a sense of garden rising up to the sky with magnificent views of the city.

It is already clear that the project “Battersea” will be included in the world Treasury of architectural projects, and London confirms its reputation as one of the best cities in the world from the point of view of the embodiment of architectural, design and innovative ideas.
