Average real estate prices in cities located on the coast of the UK grew by £500 every month since 2004 and five cities of to 2014 even doubled.
Bank Halifax conducted its own study of the real estate market of coastal cities in the UK.
The most expensive city in England – Salcombe in the County of Devon. It is a place with stunning natural beauty. The average price here rose to £615344 , followed by the city of Sandbanks in the County of Dorset, where the price of the average price of residential property reached £574089. This is the most expensive seaside towns in the UK. The study also found that prices in the 5 coastal cities of Scotland has doubled over the past 10 years. They are all located on the coast of Aberdeenshire. In some towns of Scotland the cost increase exceeded 100%, for example, the town of Fraserburgh prices rose by 141% , an increase from £53641 in 2004 to £129325 in 2014 . However, oddly enough, the average price of residential property in the coastal cities of the UK is now lower than the national average. In coastal cities they are at the level of £196826, and in the UK £239518.

In the coastal cities is not so developed industry, as in the middle of the island. However, in recent times many people have to buy a second home somewhere in the sea, and is becoming increasingly popular with a more healthy lifestyle and a good environment.
If you are an investor and want to buy a house on the coast, you should look to more Northern cities, where the average price of property is much lower and does not reach another £95000 pounds. For example, in the town of Newbiggin by the sea in Northern England the average price was £ 83 769 , in Port Bannatyne at £ 85 605.
Thus – to live by the sea in England is not too expensive. Prices in coastal cities is much lower than in the UK, and this means that they have growth potential.
