The program of assistance to buyers “Help to buy” has led to an unprecedented pace of construction in England
The program of the UK government to support the industry of residential construction “Help to buy” launched just a year ago, but it is already possible to sum up the results, and it is already clear that it has become one of the most successful programs.
The program is already allowed to become the owner of the property more than 54000 people in England.
3400 people become owners of their own homes in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The most important effect that has been achieved: thanks to the implementation of the “Help to buy”: one-third increase in the number of housing under construction in the private residential sector. The volume of residential construction is now in England at highest level since 2007 over the last 8 months of construction, the company actively increased volumes and expanded its staff. The growth rate of the number of employees in construction companies are the biggest, since 1997.

The number of sales of new homes increased across the country.
The largest number of sales of new homes in England was in Wiltshire – 603 of the house, in the County of Leeds – 559, in the County of Central Bedfordshire – 499, and in the rest of the municipalities had sold about 300 new homes.
The main problem for people wanting to get a mortgage in the Bank for the purchase of a house in England, is the inability to save up for a down payment.
The program “Help to buy” allows borrowers to make 25% down payment for mortgage lending, as this typically requires the Bank, but only 5%, the remaining 20% are paid by the state on preferential terms with deferred payment. This has allowed many families, especially those who first buy a house, to become owners. The construction industry, in turn, were able to obtain funds from banks for large-scale construction projects across the country.
Seeing how successful has the program “Help to buy” in its first phase, the UK government intends to continue to use this experience in helping young families become homeowners.
