The housing market of UK is experiencing key changes in trends, according to which, more and more people prefer to live alone and more and more people sign lease agreements for the long term.

Of the 43% of those who participated in the survey, organized by Strutt & Parker, 75% plan to change residence in the next 5 years, but continues to live alone, 45% of those aged 18 to 29 years – they plan to live in the corporate rented accommodation.

The study showed that access to the service and technology is the main motivation for the change of place of residence among young people. For most of them the availability of broadband Internet and mobile coverage is a prerequisite to make the decision about buying an apartment or home in England.

A new generation of British are not keen to financially support their children. Fewer and fewer people who are willing to sell your home, to help to solve the housing problem for their children. Only 9% aged 40 to 59 years and 0.4% above the age of 60 years, called this the main reason for the move. Thus, time trend is such that the younger generation is more open to rent and less dependent on their parents.

Lifestyle and Outlook is the main motivation to move and residency. The organizers of the study, the company Strutt & Parker, was surprised that fewer people in the UK want to release capital by selling their house in England to help their children.
