While the construction industry in the UK is gaining momentum and more and more apartment buildings being commissioned, conservative Britons dream about an old traditional house in the English style, even if the house needs repairs.
People believe all new buildings look the same, devoid of individuality and often of poor quality.

The study, conducted by the investment company MFS, found that 81% of Britons do not feel much enthusiasm from the idea to live in a new house or apartment, and 79% believe that the government should focus not only on construction but also on renovation of old housing stock, 60% believe that new housing is of poor quality and unattractive, 41% find the buildings characterless and devoid of personality, and 23% said that all new housing is suitable for only investment, but not suitable for life.
The government considers it a priority to build new housing, setting a goal to build at least 1.5 million new apartments and houses by 2022, and the figures indicate that 1.4 million of real estate objects is currently empty across the UK, it is a 20-year maximum. In the implementation of government programmes should take into account the public appetite for old buildings and part of the money spent on their upgrades.
The current strategy for the development of the real estate market in the UK is totally focussed on the construction of new housing, which greatly upset the British, who dreams of a traditional house and deprives the market of additional flexibility.
