164Views

The mayor of London announced support for tenants of property in London, particularly those who have low income. Sadik Khan accused the Minister of supply that in the new bill to ban the fee charged by the agencies infringed the interests of the tenants. So, in the preliminary announcement of the bill the Queen’s speech was about the fact that the maximum amount of the Deposit will be equal to 4 weeks rent, and the bill sees the figure of 6 weeks.

Khan generally considers the fair amount of Deposit is 3 weeks and it is supported by organizations such as Citizen Advice, Shelter and Crisis, but many rental agencies real estate England are six weeks in and hard to push this figure into the law.

The mayor motivates my figure is the fact that rent in London is extremely high, now the average rent is £2000 per month, meanwhile, in London a lot of tenants with low incomes, for whom the sum of £1000 pounds is very significant.

In addition, the Mayor supports increasing the penalty for agencies rental property in England up to the amount of £30000 pounds, meanwhile the government intends to set the penalty for the agencies for violation of legislation in the sphere of rent of £5000 pounds.

Despite the fact that the main initial purpose of the bill was to free tenants from the commissions charged the Agency for their services and to reduce the burden on tenants, in fact the large size of the deposits may offset this effect. Now the bill is under active discussion and very soon we will see the final version.
