The UK government needs to develop a fundamentally new approach to the housing market, to ensure the stated goal is to build the 300,000 new homes every year. UK since the Second World War did not know such rates of construction – this goal was accomplished six times in history, but the last time, already in 1969, the year of man’s landing on the moon.

Since humanity is quite advanced in various branches of science and industry, however, the rate of housing construction has not changed, and may have even slowed down. Obviously, construction technologies will significantly moving forward, providing a different quality of housing, however, the pace of construction is far behind the growing needs of British society and the increased pace moves very slow. For 2016, the year it was built 160,000 homes and increase this figure to 200,000 would have already been impressive. A goal of 300,000, as the government declares, at the moment difficult.
The increase in the rate of construction should not be at the expense of quality. To address these objectives, it is necessary to provide funding, which is now not enough. Therefore, it is necessary to use additional sources to unfreeze the funds of local authorities and to attract funds of pension funds and to attract private investors.
