In the UK in the 2015 General elections would be held and now the real estate market vigorously debated the introduction of new taxes, which, according to some, needs to replenish the budget and eliminating social injustice and for others – this will only reinforce the injustice. One such tax is the “mansion tax”

In the case of the introduction of the new, so-called “mansion tax” in the UK, its taxpayers could be the owners of more than 80,000 homes.

For the introduction of a new tax advocated by some politicians, especially the liberal democratic party of great Britain but the British government has not yet made a final decision.

The main burden of the new tax would have on homeowners in London and the South-East of the country – about 95%, as the houses in this part of the UK much more expensive. Indeed, already counted that 67% of the fees from the new tax would come from just three areas in London where the most expensive homes in the UK. Approximately 35.8% of pay house owners in Kensington and Chelsea, where 18660 homes that fall under the tax, the other 32% will come from the districts of Westminster and Camden.

Under the bill, the mansion tax is supposed to tax homes worth more £2 million the Amount of tax will be about £14500 for every homeowner, but at the top of the market, the payment amount will be much higher.

More than 82,000 homes in the UK will fall under the new tax and it will give the Treasury £1.2 billion in tax revenue per year. Of them, presumably, £1,04 billion tax, or 87.4%, other will come from the taxpayers of London £94 million, or 7.9% will give South coast of England and the rest of the UK will raise about £56 million, or 4.7%.

Critics of the new tax are already talking about the fact that homeowners in London and the South of the country, and so bear the main tax burden, paying the increased stamp duty. Additional tax liabilities on the same market participants will further distort the uneven situation with taxation on the real estate market in the UK.
