Huge demand for London property from foreign and British investors led to imbalance on the housing market in London when there is an acute shortage of affordable housing in London and the surrounding area.
To solve this problem the Mayor of London Boris Johnson was given the government additional powers in order to ensure delivery in London new homes.
£200 million will be allocated to the city from funds of the government for the construction of new residential areas in the capital. The mayor of London is also empowered to intervene in the course of construction, monitor the timing, to prevent delays and to intervene in the process on any issues.
The government of London to improve the potential of brownfield land in need of regeneration and require additional attention.
It is expected that 20 new residential districts will be built 50,000 new housing units. In addition, it will be rebuilt and modernized some of the old residential areas. Cozy residential neighborhoods with green infrastructure will be scattered across London.

Funds allocated by the government, will help to solve the problem with the housing around 250,000 Londoners, providing them with housing high quality at an inexpensive price.
For the building of London these funds will be a contest among the best construction companies in the UK. Now the mayor has published his draft and invites developers in each of the local areas to participate.
Has launched a new construction site Meridian Water, where it will be delivered to 5000 homes, a new school, library and commercial space.
It is also known that the project will be allocated areas of London, in districts: Meridian Water in Enfield, Tottenham Hale in Haringey, Southall in Ealing, South Poplar in Towe rHamlets, and Winstanley and Yor kRoad in Wandsworth.
All project developers will be given maximum powers without restrictions in planning. Removing any obstacles in the planning will allow developers to make it possible to speed up the construction.
