Areas in London and the regions situated in the South-East of England continue to dominate as the most expensive place on the basis of “per square meter of living space”. In these areas saw the biggest increase in property prices in the UK for the past five years. These findings are contained in published recently the latest research of real estate market of the London company from Halifax.
However, there are several cities in the UK outside the South-East of England, where very high prices per square meter of residential real estate. Is Altrincham, Edinburgh, Solihull, and Leamington Spa in Warwickshire.
Areas of London Kensington and Chelsea remain the most expensive areas of the UK. Here, the average price of one square meter of property is £10854 lbs, and the average price of an apartment located in the area – £857225, which is also the highest price in the UK.
In eleven boroughs of London the average price for one square meter residential property exceeds £5,000 pounds per square meter. Twenty of the most expensive areas of the UK are also located in London.

Altrincham as a town, the most expensive outside the South East of England, with an average price per square meter – £2227, followed by Edinburgh with £2214 , then Solihull where the average price is £2189 per square meter and Leamington Spa in Warwickshire , with a price of £2144 per square meter.
The lowest average price per square meter of property in Stanley is around £818 , which is 13 times less than in Chelsea.
All 10 cheapest cities in the UK outside the South, five of them located in Scotland.
In 10 districts of London property prices grew at a record pace. The largest price increase was in Lambeth, where prices have increased by 61% over five years. In Kensington and Chelsea prices increased by 56% since the beginning of 2009.
Across the UK since 2009 the growth in property prices was 13% the Basis for this growth , of course, is London, especially its Central part, where prices for the five years grew by 34%. In the South-Eastern part of England, the average price per square meter increased by 13 %. In fairness, it should be noted that during the same period, the average price per square meter for residential property in the North of England fell by 3%, and in Scotland fell by 5%.
The unit of measure is 1 sq meter is a very convenient measure as it allows to relate housing of different sizes and in different places.
