The UK government has allocated to municipalities in the UK £5 million to upgrade housing, used for rent. Many homeowners rent housing, not really conforming to the standards and creating unsafe conditions for living that transforms the lives of tenants in an endless suffering.
The funding will be used to upgrade dilapidated housing.
Part of the funds will be used to improve the situation of migrants, who are often crammed into sheds and a high rent to live in pretty cramped conditions.
Municipalities will also need to monitor the state of the housing sector of the rental, making raids and check the quality of life of tenants.
More than 4.4 million households consists of private rental sector in the UK. Approximately 40,000 homes and apartments have been checked in the past year, resulting in more than 3,000 landlords were subjected to fines or criminal prosecution. Homeowners who rent out unsafe, unhygienic housing, or number of occupants which exceeds the established norms, subject to fines of up to £5,000 pounds.

Homeowners who rent out overcrowded housing is of particular concern of the UK government. Some owners share their homes for a very small room, which looked like a cage and call, trying to extract from its assets the maximum benefit.
A critical shortage and the high cost of housing in London leads to the fact that, for example, in North London, there have been cases when the owner divided his property by partitions into spaces where barely fit one bed and each of these places he rented poor tenants for £750 pounds a month.
The minimum size of the property in pounds will certainly help in addressing this issue, but it still will not eliminate the abuses in the field. Therefore, it is important to inspect the facilities to identify violations. Housing of this kind is not only safe, but also jeopardizes the health of tenants, as it does not correspond to any sanitary or fire regulations.
