The growth of prices for luxury properties in key cities in the UK will persist through 2016, driven by growing demand from buyers.
In particular, high demand for property in key cities like Oxford, bath, Bristol and Cheltenham with access to good schools, transport links and various amenities.
The elite real estate company Knight Frank presented its next report and the forecast.
These cities are becoming more attractive to buyers from London, who praised the improvement of the infrastructure and at the same time good affordable real estate in these cities.

Important role in enhancing attractiveness of the cities in the West played the electrification of the Western Railway Great Western rail, which connects London with Bristol, bath, Oxford and new modern railway station Oxford Parkway, recently opened in the North of Oxford.
Annual growth in prices of residential luxury properties in Oxford has slowed and in 2015 amounted to 1.3%. However, the economy of Oxford is experiencing good times. High-tech sectors of industry, communications, publishing and medical sector are on the rise. Coupled with the presence of two major universities, the growth of industry provides a constant interest in real estate from the residents of Oxford.
It is expected that 2016 will be held in Oxford under the sign of good demand , especially in the beginning of 2016, when many investors will try to complete the transaction prior to the introduction of new rules for Stamp duty to be implemented from 1 April 2016.
According to a report by Knight Frank , price growth for elite real estate in bath was 4.5%. This is despite the fact that the average growth of prices for luxury housing has shown a 3.1%. Bat – world famous historical center, rich in its museums, streets in the Georgian style, and universities, making it attractive both for living and for investment and ensures the continued interest of buyers.
Knight Frank announces 6% growth of registered potential buyers wishing to buy a property in bath. As the number of visitors to the site who are interested in real estate in bath, grew by 43%.
Housing prices in Bristol showed an increase of 6.6%, driven by rising demand, good schools, transport links and the lack of available facilities.
The highest price growth in Bristol in 2015 was in the area of Stoke Bishop, where prices for luxury properties grew by 9.7%. District Redland showed price growth at 8.5% and district Clifton – price growth at 8.4%. All this areas close proximity to prestigious schools and with good transport links.
Bristol is good in that it has excellent transport links with London and other key cities in the UK, not only by road but also by sea, rail and by air. The increased interest of Londoners to Bristol is confirmed by the fact that the number of offices of a London real estate companies grew over the past year in Bristol by 5%.
Another city in Western part of England – Cheltenham is also experiencing growth in demand for residential property. For the last quarter of 2015, the number of transactions exceeds 4 quarter of 2014 by 50%. The report noted that the government plans to make railway communication between London and Cheltenham more often, that will make life in this city more comfortable and will definitely spur the interest of buyers.
