The scenic Scottish Isle of Skye is the best place in Britain to live. And the cost of life on the island is much lower than the cost of living in other 10 places that, according to research by Rightmove, most desirable among buyers of British property.
Included in the top ten Welsh town of Pembroke, and 6 of the 10 most desirable cities located in the South-West of England. Despite the fact that life in the most expensive desirable cities in the UK are not cheap, they are all located outside the most expensive region – the South West, including London.
A common feature of all cities are beautiful sea views, amazing mountains and places of outstanding natural beauty.
The Isle of Skye, which, in fact, is actually not a self sufficient island thanks to the bridge connecting it with much of Scotland, led a top, thanks to its beautiful landscapes, sea views, rocky mountains and picturesque Harbor town of Portree. In addition, it is ideal because real estate prices there are much cheaper – on average £231000, it is much lower than the prices of other cities that ranked in the top. Only in the town of Pembroke is also quite low average price of £169000.
For example, the average price of housing in Salcombe ( Devon) – £625083.
The results of the study show that people increasingly want to get away from the hustle and bustle of big cities, enjoy nature, scenery, fresh air and silence. Interestingly, the list did not get any one city of the most bustling metropolises. This suggests that the cities give people jobs and entertainment, but can’t give true inner peace and beautiful scenery.
