Commercial space for cafes and restaurants in the UK ahead of offices and shops in efficiency

The company HARNESS Property Intelligence analyzed the change in the price of 1 sq. ft commercial premises for the period from 2010 to 2017, focusing on key regional cities – Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bristol and Cardiff.The analysis showed that the performance of cafés and restaurants increased on average by 8.5% in seven years. The biggest growth was shown by the Birmingham – 15.8%., in second place is Cardiff, with growth of 10.8%.In Manchester and Liverpool growth of 9.9% and 9%, respectively, in Bristol, by 6.2%.Same premises for offices and retail, in contrast, show a decrease in efficiency. Exceptions are made only stores in Birmingham, where the area under the stores showed an increase of the average efficiency of 11.2%.This kind of analysis is very useful for assessing the health of individual sectors.Food culture outside the home is becoming increasingly popular among Britons, and there was a steady tendency to its growth.
