The area of the average dwelling of a citizen of the UK getting smaller, down from 85 square metres to 76 square metres and number of rooms in the average house ( apartment ) of the British decreased from 5.2 to 4.8 rooms.

It means Britons now have the smallest housing among residents in Western Europe. Residential real estate people in Ireland on 15 percent more and the average Dane has a housing 80 percent more – about 137 square meters.

A third of owners of residential property in the UK – 32 per cent, stated that they would like to have in your home more space, and 20 percent wish the house had more natural light.

In fact, those who live in a house which is from 2 to 10 years, lack of space is the main reason for wanting to move.

Three quarters – 75 percent – believe lack of space “key problem” and 69 percent say they don’t even have sufficient number of rooms.

Studies show, consumers are right in their fears. The lack of living space affects the basic necessities of life and many people take for granted that the house should be enough space for storage, and for recreation, education, entertainment and receiving guests.

In more extreme situations, lack of space to homemaking and normal human life can have an impact on the health of family members, level of education and level of family relations.

The UK government and the inhabitants of the country has always paid extraordinary attention to the ecology of their island. Thanks to the eco – balance, in the UK most large area rural area with preserved green area in Europe.

But the price that is paid for large green area – quite expensive the value of residential property in the UK and relatively small size.
